I have been into bushcraft for as long as I can remember. I grew up with a big garden, in which one area we had free reign to light fires and build camps. As I grew up I joined the Scouts and have fond memories of our trips to the woods and going on camp. Even after I left the Scouts I still loved camping and the outdoors. Then I discovered bushcraft and my eyes were opened to a whole new world of learning and discovery.
Over the last decade I have experienced a number of differing environments, ranging from the extreme heat of the Peruvian Jungle to the freezing tundra of the Swedish Arctic. I have navigated my way along the lakes and rivers of Sweden on a canoeing expedition and arranged many solo trips across the highlands of Scotland.
These amazing experiences, combined with my enjoyment of sharing what I have learnt with friends and family, have made me realise where my true vocation lies, which is passing on my love of bushcraft by teaching others. I have since completed an NCFE Level 4 Bushcraft Instructors course. It was an amazing 2 years; hard work at times, but also very rewarding.
The other year I organised a Bushcraft Party for my son, which was a great success. He loved it, as did his friends and the parents! It was widely commented on that it was completely different to the usual parties and I had many enquiries to do others.
So here I am ready to go!
